Neck Lift Procedure

The Minimally Invasive Neck Lift Procedure (Step-by-step)

A minimally invasive neck lift will redefine your jawline, improve the look of the lower face and rejuvenate your appearance.  At Moy-Fincher-Chipps in Beverly Hills, our renowned board-certified and fellowship-trained facial plastic surgeons perform minimally invasive neck lifting and contouring under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure.

The steps of a minimally invasive neck lift procedure:

Before your surgery your MFC cosmetic surgeon will mark your lower face and neck to ensure incisions are placed in the most well-hidden areas.  A minimal incision neck lift requires only a small incision placed behind the ear in the crease. The incision may extend into the hairline for a more extensive rejuvenation.

Medications are administered for your comfort during the procedure. You may choose to have twilight anesthesia, a mild dose of sedation to help you remain calm during the procedure. In addition, our surgeons use tumescent anesthesia which is the injection of a solution of local anesthetic that helps to minimize bleeding and eliminates the risks of general anesthesia.

In a minimally invasive neck lift a small incision is made behind each ear. This is the access point from which your surgeon will insert specially designed instruments to lift, suspend, contour and reposition muscle and skin tissues along the jawline and neck.  Skin is redraped over the lifted contours and excess skin is trimmed away.

The incisions are sutured, and your procedure is complete. The incisions heal well, are concealed, and are difficult to detect.

Recovery takes about ten days with, at most, a bit of soreness for the first three days after the procedure. Neck lift patients will receive complete post op instructions that will address home care, medications, and directions about how to care for your incisions. You can expect a visibly improved neck once the swelling and bruising diminish

At Moy Fincher and Chipps in Beverly Hills, we can combine your minimally invasive neck lift with laser resurfacing for optimal results. Neck skin is thin, contains less collagen and fewer oil glands which makes it dry and prone to wrinkling. Neck skin is often neglected when applying sunscreen and moisturizing products. This can cause the neck to appear older than the patient’s age. Laser resurfacing can refresh and rejuvenate the neck skin for youth-enhancing renewal.

The cosmetic surgery specialists at Moy-Fincher-Chipps offer their exceptional skills in a discrete, comfortable setting where patients can expect compassionate care.
